‘Drive Me Crazy’ is the latest addition to C_Sky’s chunky discography of productions which have continuously received high praise in the industry and received supports from a string of heavyweight DJs from the top ranks of House and Techno.
Jumping into life with triplet-kicks and a classic rhythmic hi-hat section, the lead record starts off with all low frequencies filtered before the white noise crescendo lets off a main bassline which glides up and down over an analogue stack of signature classic drum machines. C_Sky scoops into a 1988 Fine Young Cannibals classic vocal for the breaks before smashing back into the main body of the track with a sizzling offbeat hi-hat and minimalist synth-based percussive elements working below the base of the structure.
On the flipside, C_Sky switches up for ‘Impossible’ – a heavy 808 kick drum lead that pushes the Tech-House styling closer to the Techno landscape and works in a more mono lead to control the forward momentum. A huge horn-like melodic synth blasts the drums away into silence creating one of those throwback Space Ibiza-style dancefloor moments of anticipation in the air before launching off into another blizzard of hefty bass and kick-drums. It’s a classy B-side for this two-tracker EP that’ll do the damage on any dancefloor that knows quality Tech House.
C_Sky’s musical roots unmistakably hark back to the golden era of Detroit’s infamous Techno revolution with a clear inspiration carried through into his work by way of rough and ready, analogue-centric beats and bass which give a nod to the legends that dug out the path to where we are today in electronic music. 20+ years in the game as a DJ/Producer with roots tied to earliest adopters of Techno and House in Sardinia where Enrico cut this teeth, his journey went international via a string of shows that led him to the likes of Space and Pacha Ibiza at Europe’s long-reigning party capital. As we move into 2020 and a new decade, C_Sky remains a stalwart in the genres that he operated and looks ahead to another stretch as a reliable purveyor of quality and organic electronic music.
