Reflekt Records this month present a bold and upfront three-tracker EP that showcases a triple-threat of heavyweight production efforts from PATHIK – a producer who is starting to carve out a serious reputation as a reliable purveyor of quality underground-centric electronic music efforts.
Leading the EP off into a driving intro is ‘Capsule’ with 128BPM thudding beat that dominates the low-end bass spectrum to carry the energy of the production. Laced through the mids and highs are a glistening sky of reverb-soaked leads and brass hits which raid the waves with unpredictable timing and variety. Track 2 on the EP ‘Come Down’ shifts energy towards a more groove-driven energy via a flurry of hyperactive hi-hats and rhythmic elements that stagger over the atmospheric backing pads and haunting vocal sprays. Wrapping up the EP is ‘Tunnel Tribes’ – fronted by the huge offbeat ride to dominate the groove and momentum whilst a staggered one-note trigger lead holds the Techno vibe as softer synths and FX swirl around the spectrum to distract ears away from the centre of the mix into the wider fields of hearing. It’s a quality three-tracker that shows off a variety of skills and techniques and clearly shines a light on PATHIK’s adeptness in the studio when it comes to cooking up a variety of quality Techno soundscapes.
Assertively developing a standing as one of the more prominent Techno talents coming out of Norway – PATHIK’s grind is clearly showing signs of success as his sound and signature stylings grow release to release.
