End Of Year Review 2018 with Blank Page

To mark the end of 2018, The Rave Exchange is travelling the world to reflect on the year of a series of DJs and Producers from every corner of the planet. From summer memories to personal achievements – we dig deep into the past 12 months and discuss future plans of some of our favourite emerging talents

Artist Name: Blank Page

Highlight of 2018: Having my music played on BBC Introducing in the UK.

Happy memory from this summer: It has to be the World Cup!

Happy memory from this winter: Buying my own flat.

The most difficult thing you’ve done this year: Buy my own flat!

This time last year you were: I was working out how I was going to look after the two rats I got for Christmas!

Your New Year’s resolution last year: I don’t do New Year’s resolutions… If I want to do something, I’ll do it any time of the year.

Your New Year’s resolution this year: Not a resolution, but my aim is to climb the Three Peaks in the UK.

How long is it going to last? I imagine it will take all year to train for!

Your musical goal for 2019: I ticked of Ministry Of Sound in 2018… Aim for 2019 is to play a gig at Egg Club in London.

A new skill or hobby you’d like to get into: I’ve already got into enough… I actually need to cut back to allow more time for music.

Your dream Christmas present: How about a release on mau5trap? 😀

Favourite festive food: Turkey and ham pie on Boxing Day. My Dad used to be a Chef and my Mum worked in catering so they’re both great cooks. The leftovers pie is so good!

Your NYE plans: A quiet one with the girlfriend unless I can find a rave to go to!

Public figure of the year: Gareth Southgate.

Movie/TV show of the year: Power was pretty sick. I really got into The Deuce as well.

Artist or label to watch in 2019: Ben Bohmer! I discovered him in 2018 and he is absolutely smashing it. Some of the best melodic electronic music I’ve heard in a long time.

Song of the year that you were involved with: My favourite track would have to be “First Time” under my other alias Newman & Me. It did really well on Spotify getting thousands of streams so I was really happy about that.

Song of the year that you were not involved with: Jan Blomqvist – The Space Inbetween (Ben Bohmer Remix)

Something you learned in 2018: How to use Instagram!

A prediction about the world in 2019: Someone will come up with a way of solving the plastic crisis.

And lastly, your favourite Christmas song: The Pogues – Fairy Tale Of New York… I’m a bit of a scrooge!
