Kardano Shares His Review of 2022 And His Plans For The Holidays

2022 is almost over and it’s a good moment to review the most important milestones of this past year full of learnings, new experiences and, of course, music. Kardano shares some insight about his year and his plans for the holidays.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to talk to us today. 2022 is almost over, we want to know what is your most important highlight of the year, both musically and personally?

Personally, I was 212 pounds at the start of the year and now I’m 195 hopefully I can stay this way and loose more weight. Musically, I’m just happy to stay consistent for most of 2022.

What was your favorite release of 2022 (of your own)?

When The Music Plays

And what was your favorite track of the year from someone else?

Low Steppa – Your Dream

Did you have any special standout shows this year either that you played or attended?

No not really, just been playing Karma Lounge at Home. Hopefully, next year I can land some cool gigs, was too busy doing sound in the film business.

What was the biggest lesson you learned in life 2022?

Try to stay positive when shit is going super wrong.

And following on, what was the biggest lesson you learned in music?

Stay consistent which cannot be easy a lot of the time.

If you could send yourself a message to you 5 years ago, what would it be and why?

Should have done something different with your life other than music, you never realize how hard things can be until you have tried them. I’ve come too far and there is no turning back. Also, something keep calls me back to my studio to do music, it’s like a drug that I keep on taking.

How has your sound developed in 2022?

I’ve been kind of getting into Minimal House and my productions are starting to have these types of sounds, but are not going the whole 9 yards which is fine I guess, I just finished the music and I’m looking for a home for it, so I’ll have some interesting music coming out in 2023, once I found homes for most of my music.

Who would you say was the most innovative artist in 2022?

I don’t think innovative is a great word to use in Dance music, as a producer, we are much the same in making the music. It’s our sound that makes us stand out and I don’t think much of us are making bold choices in that department, much of us are carbon copies of each other’s music, my mind might be in the gutter, I’m guilty for this too.

Which label or labels do you think where at the top of their game in 2022?

Deeperfect, Defected, Toolroom, DFTD, Off The Grid and many more… any label whose music I’m buying on Beatport and I continue to go back is top of their game for me, so there are many of them.

If any, do you have any regrets for the year behind us?

No regrets.

What are your plans for the holidays?

Being in my studio like I always do, I’m hanging with my kids, gym and family.

Just for fun, if you had to take a classic Christmas song and remix it, what style would it be and what could we expect?

I’m not a fan of Christmas music.

Where will you be spending New Year’s Eve?

At home most likely.

If you had to put 2022 into one sentence, what would it be?

The spider man meme where there’re three of them pointing at each other it’s what the world has come to really.
