End Of Year Review 2018 with Delusive Relics

To mark the end of 2018, The Rave Exchange is travelling the world to reflect on the year of a series of DJs and Producers from every corner of the planet. From summer memories to personal achievements – we dig deep into the past 12 months and discuss future plans of some of our favourite emerging talents.

Artist Name: Delusive Relics

Highlight of 2018: Releasing our first single called “Woman’s Diary “

Happy memory from this summer: Attending the Depeche Mode concert in Boston

Happy memory from this winter: All the great memories related to working on Chaotic Notions album including writing the lyrics and composing the songs last winter. We had lots of snow last year and I remember I was watching the snow falling while we were working on some of the songs.

The most difficult thing you’ve done this year: Meeting the deadlines for mixing and mastering sessions, organizing the guest musicians, finding video and graphic designers and making sure all songs are ready for our debut album “Chaotic Notions”.

This time last year you were… I was probably watching the beautiful snow falling to the ground whilst working on my songs and enjoying the feelings of the season.

Your new year’s resolution last year: Finishing “Chaotic Notions” album and start working on the second album.

How long did it last? It took about a year to get the debut album done. We are still working on the second one.

Your new year’s resolution this year: Investing more time on music and finishing the second album for “DR”.

How long is it going to last? Potentially the whole year.

Your musical goal for 2019: Preparing ourselves for releasing our debut album and getting ready for our CD release party on the 22nd March.

A new skill or hobby you’d like to get into: This year we would like to go rafting for the first time, we think it will be a great experience. Also, Anis is planning to set up a telescope in our backyard, so we can watch the stars and planets some nights.

Your Christmas dream: As a person coming from a different culture, we do not celebrate Christmas since we have a different calendar and New Year, but after moving to the US, I love the holidays and the atmosphere of the season. I remember we used to watch “A Christmas Carol”, “The Little Match Girl” and other cartoons when we were kids back home. Now once it snows and it is Christmas time, it reminds me of those beautiful stories.

Favourite festive food: Turkey with Cranberry sauce and Fesenjan (this a Persian food)

Your NYE plans: We will probably go to one of our favourite restaurants with our friends to countdown for the new year.

Public figure of the year: Nadia Murad, Peace Noble Prize Winner.

Movie/TV show of the year: Stranger Things 2 and Bohemian Rhapsody.

Artist or label to watch in 2019: Massive Attack, Depeche Mode as artists, Inside Out and Metropolis Records as labels

Song of the year that you were involved with: “A Woman’s Diary”

Song of the year that you were not involved with: “When Is the Future” by VNV-Nation

Something you learned in 2018: Friendships have limits, find those limits before you get hurt.

A prediction about the world in 2019: Unfortunately, we don’t think that the world is moving in the right direction right now.

And lastly, your favourite Christmas song: Marillion’s version of “The Carol of the Bells”
