Behind the scenes of Wicked with The Enveloper

The Enveloper turned his attention to dance music around 2013 where he began to teach himself the art of DJ’ing and from 2017, he began releasing dark and rousing Techno tracks that have been gaining rapid traction. His latest release ‘Wicked’ is a deep, dark Techno track with a galloping beat and forceful drops that is causing quite the stir, so we caught up with The Enveloper to find out more about the release.

What was the inspiration behind ‘Wicked’?

The inspiration behind Wicked was to create a harsh dangerous aura, an aura that takes you on a journey through underground atmospheres.

How would you sum it up to someone who hasn’t heard it yet?

Try to imagine dark vibes combined with a hard kick, rousing hi-hats and a vibe that creates a feeling that makes you want to stomp the ground. This is Wicked!

How does it differ to some of your other releases?

Well, I like the dark side, but at the same time, I really like mystic and cool melodies/tracks. I think that Wicked is my darkest track so far and differs at exactly this point.

What would you say is your favourite part of the track?

Especially the second part goes crazy with the dark growls and drones. I really like when the synth with the creep and high-frequency melody kicks in: gives me the feels.

What has the initial reaction been like?

Hehe, the initial reaction was: “Ohhh this got pressure and goes through the wall.”

Who would you love to see supporting ‘Wicked’?

I really would love if my track is being supported by T78 and ROBPM.

What was it like working with Lakota Music?

I honestly must say that working with Lakota was quite relaxed, there was no pressure and everything went harmoniously. I am very happy to have met Lakota, we have a lot of things planned for the next time.

Tell us more about the Toma Hawk remix?

The Toma Hawk Remix is a really nice piece of music, I really like the kick and the acid lines in the remix, all in all a nice track for escalation.

Are there any more releases on the horizon?

Of course, there are many more releases on the horizon! I’ve got some nice stuff in my backpack and I am really excited to spread it out in the world!

Finally, where can we go to grab our copy of the release?

You can grab your copy at Beatport and stream it on all other platforms like Spotify.
