Interview: Behind the scenes of Bomba with Sonny Noto

Sonny has been taking the industry by storm recently with some hugely successful releases such as Sonny’s collab with Italian music maestro Gil Sanders ‘Tell Me’ that have seen support from the likes of Tiesto, Afrojack and Sander Van Doom. Check out what Sonny had to say about his latest track ‘Bomba’.

1. What does ‘Bomba’ mean?

Basically a big Bomb! My friends and I would usually use the term when referring to some great food or a cool car and that’s how I feel about the track so I thought I’d name it Bomba.

2. Where did you get your inspiration for this track?

I’ve always loved Latin style Tech-House vibes ever since I was a kid so I guess I was inspired by the music I listened to in my past.

3. Describe the vibe of ‘Bomba’ for those who haven’t heard it yet?

Carnival-style, Latin, House, beach, sexy vibes.

4. What is your creative process?

I basically hear something when I’m digging through music I listen to at that moment and try to vibe off that. Then it’s off to my studio to work on putting something together in my own vision.

5. How do you balance producing with other responsibilities?

Haha! This is a great question! I really don’t have a specific answer for you, unfortunately; I basically work on my music in the late evenings now.

6. Do you play any instruments?

I play drums and piano.

7. What are your favourite plugins?

Sylenth, Spire, Native Instruments.

8. What label would you love to release on?

Axtone

9. Do you have any tips for budding producers?

Just produce for fun and for what you are currently feeling at the time! I honestly don’t care for trends anymore I just want to make what I am feeling at the time.

10. Where can we find more of your music?

Spotify, YouTube, pretty much all digital platforms and of course my www.soundcloud.com/sn23
